Equine veterinarian Dr Oscar Mazzarello, strives to practice modern evidence-based Veterinary Medicine, focusing on the equine athlete, from the thoroughbred racehorse, to the Irish Sport Horse and to the beloved child 's pony !
Constantly and progressively working on performance horses, Dr Oscar Mazzarello has achieved in 2014 the Certificate in Equine Sports Medicine, at University College Dublin ( UCD, Ireland ) .
A proud member of American Association of Equine practitioner since 2003 (AAEP), I have enthusiastically joined the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology since 2014 (ISELP), following practical courses on lameness & imaging & attending conventions on specific subjects as on international pre-purchase exams & regenerative therapies on sport horses & thoroughbreds.
I am part of the veterinary panel for the Cavan Equestrian Horse sales and for the Monart Horse Sales ( 3 years old Show jumpers/eventers ) and registered with FEI as permitted treating vet.

... lameness work ups, poor performance investigations, cryosurgery, elective surgeries, Power doppler echography with Ultra High Definition probes & elastography, electrocardiography (ECG) & phonocardiography, stablelab SAA , digital wireless radiography with latest FUJI DR, mesotherapy, motorized dentistry, OZONE therapy, shock wave treatments and various orthobiologic treatment like Platelets Rich Plasma ( PRP) , regenerative therapy with Allogenic Mesenchymal Stem Cell & antiinflammatory orthobiologics for tendon & ligament injuries .
Pre Purchase exams - Vetting
We work on Irish Sport Horses ( Showjumpers, eventers), ponies & thoroughbreds, flat & National Hunt.
We perform pre-purchase examinations of horses and ponies for local and overseas clients throughout Ireland and abroad.
Starting with a full 5 stages vetting exam, we can provides direct digital X-rays sets (DDR), ultrasound evaluation, endoscopy (and video-endoscopy), thermography and other additional tests as required.
We also offer same services for pre-sale screening exams and public sales for thoroughbred yearlings, eventers & showjumpers .
Imaging & PPE
We can work at clinic premises and in nearby counties ( mostly Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford, Kildare, Dublin , Meath, Tipperary ) , throughout Ireland, North Ireland and England.
We also provide screening & pre-sales X-rays sets for thoroughbreds yearlings & sport horses (Monart x-rays sets ). We offer different X-rays sets for different situations and clients request, using latest state of the art digital x-rays technology from Fujifilm, Advance Console.
In addition, we are very keen on complementary assessment of tendons, suspensory ligaments & joints with laptop based ultrasound imaging.
Endoscopic exams, with digital video recording , can be performed before & after exercise, as requested.
